Why did you apply for the Komoto Family Foundation Fellowship?
I am very excited about a recent ruling that now allows women in California to obtain birth control from local pharmacies. This means that women have easier access to birth control and more choices when it comes to family planning. I am interested to find out why some women, who have medical coverage and birth control access, still have high rates of unplanned pregnancies.
What are your career goals?
Women are superhuman-- they are mothers, doctors, cooks, psychologists, law enforcers, etc. My ultimate career goal is to work in the pharmaceutical setting where I can develop and provide services for all women.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love to travel, read, and go wine tasting. But mostly I enjoy spending time with my kids -- whether at the beach, running around in the fountains of an open mall, doing crafts, and cooking together at home.
